     Our first product, this vegan bacon, is our entry into the market. The founder started this business at 14-years-old and has been working to expand his production and marketing now that he is older. His sister is the mastermind behind the eye-catching packaging and branding. So, while this guy is perfecting the bacon, she’s making sure it looks as good as it tastes. Geo D's first ever sale!

Our Story

Our story begins many years ago with me (aka Mom) being frustrated that there were no vegan kids cookbooks on the market. Eventually, I just decided to make my own and sold them through vegan festivals and Etsy. My kids made the meals featured in the book, did cooking demos to help sell, and wandered the festivals talking to everyone. Many years later, as homeschoolers, they took their hand at selling cookies at my booths. My son has been making food and playing with recipes since he was old enough to stand. This love of food and cooking has lead him to pursue culinary classes, begin a blog about tofu, and experiment in the kitchen regularly. He even went up against local chefs in a tri-city macaroni and cheese festival winning second place. Not bragging, just setting you up for this:

 

We just couldn't find a vegan bacon we liked. Everything out there was either bland, rubbery, too peppery, or missing the texture we craved. So, he decided to fix it and naturally, when I shared a video on how to make a vegan bacon from rice, my 14 year-old headed straight to the kitchen. “Meh, this batch needs more salt…oops, too much salt…more paprika…try smoke flavor now…” After plenty of trial and error (and lots of taste tests), he created a vegan bacon that finally hit the sweet spot: crispy, smoky, and full of flavor. He wanted to share his creation at the next festival and offered BLT samples at my booth. We quickly realized he had created something unique as attenders began to ask how to buy it. 

What began as a teenager’s kitchen challenge turned into a business with a mission. Today, Geo D Foods serves up three crave-worthy flavors—Sweet Southern, Smoked Savory, and Smoked Pepper—so everyone can find their favorite. What makes us different isn’t just the product though—it’s the people behind it. George represents the next generation of food innovators: bold, creative, and not afraid to take risks. I bring the balance, guidance, and encouragement to help those ideas grow. You'll often find Dad helping sell at festvials, trying to humbly brag about his son, without forgetting to mention the free labor the parents are providing. Our artist is in-house as well: sister/daughter doing all the graphic designs we need to make things look good. Together, we’re a family team proving that good food and good values can come from anywhere—even high school students.

 

From farmers’ markets to food festivals, we’ve watched people’s eyes light up the first time they try our bacon. Vegans love it. Meat-eaters love it. Even the skeptics come back for seconds. That reaction tells us everything we need to know: people are ready for plant-based bacon that actually delivers.
